Wooburn 2nd XI lost a highly enjoyable match against Bledlow 2nds in the blistering heat on Saturday.
After electing to bat, Wake\s wicket fell for nought, and it was left to Lawless (26) and Cuthbert (21) to take command, moving the score past 50 for the second wicket. The Wooburn innings reached peaks and troughs under the steady barrage from the Bledlow bowlers, but Rundle (35) and Tennant (23) helped the home side onto 171.
In reply, Bledlow soon lost Taylor for a duck, but opener Clark hit a useful 34 and good knocks from West (30) and Tory (40) moved the visitors within sight of the target.
Waxman and Rundle managed a couple of wickets each as Wooburn tried in vain to bowl Bledlow out, but Marshall eventually sealed victory for his side with an unbeaten 24.
