BOWLERS UNABLE TO KEEP LAWLESS IN CHECK
For the first time in recent weeks, Wooburn Narkovians 2nd XI won the toss and were able to put their opposition in to bat on Saturday. The decision paid immediate dividends as Stoke Green lost Witts and Ahmed for ducks. Cordery (25) and Aziz (25) dug in, but Pidgeon came on to claim two quick wickets and put Wooburn back in control.
Cuthbert also had success, but from 89-8 Stoke Green rallied, and a further 51 runs were added before they were all out.
In reply, the Narks lost Wake with the score on 16, and Cuthbert then shouldered arms to his first ball only to lose his off stump. Phil Lawless (82 not out) and James White (45 not out) then saw Wooburn home in a fine partnership.
